Great, timely post! I’ve only read Guernsey from this list, and agree it’s a good pick for the topic. I’d also recommend Rilla of Ingleside. It definitely has some bleak and sad parts, but you also see how life changes and goes on for ordinary folks on the homefront, and how a crises can bring maturity, growth, and beauty.
Mornings with Rosemary by Libby Page and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry are two great British books full of hope and lovely writing.

Oh my goodness; you mentioned SO many great books here! I LOVED We Were the Lucky Ones, Guernsey, and Station Eleven (I have been thinking a lot about that book lately!). I just recently heard of As Bright As Heaven, so I am waiting for it on Overdrive. But I had not heard of The Lightest Object in the Universe and just added that now!!
